Thank you, librarians and booksellers and teachers!

This weekend I hit the interstate and headed north to Phoenix to throw a party with my fellow YA writers Saturday night for Arizona librarians, book sellers, and teachers!

That’s us right before the party, beside the table of publisher and author donated books we had on hand to give away. (left to right: Janni Lee Simner, Amy Fellner Dominy, Aprilynne Pike, Lisa McMann, Bill Konigsberg, Tom Leveen, James A. Owen, Janette Rallison)

Around 150 book folks showed up in all, and it was so much fun to be able to thank them for all they do for us throughout the year. (Lisa McMann has a longer description of the gathering here.)

Then Sunday I was reminded again how much I appreciate said book folk when I headed on to an afternoon science fiction/fantasy signing at Poisoned Pen with my fellow adult and YA SF/fantasy writers.

But just in case you weren’t at either of these events, in case you live nowhere near Phoenix or Tucson or the Southwest, thank you, thank you, librarians and booksellers and teachers! Thank you, too, readers who love our books and share that love with others! We appreciate you more than we have words to say, for all that words are supposed to be the thing we’re best at.

We couldn’t do any of this without you.
