“Coyote’s in the wash / you know he never gets stuck / he drives a battered old 57 pickup truck”

Today’s mid-morning sense-of-place music break:

Some awfully familiar landscape and locales there …

And now I want to introduce this song and landscape to the mythos of karenhealey‘s Guardian of the Dead, which comes at “all the old stories are true” in a very different way, and let them debate each other. 🙂 (My own always-still-developing views tend toward: “all the old stories are true” but also “all the old stories are not the same thing.” With a side exploration of the importance of metaphor.)

Also noted for future reference: Charles de Lint’s Old Blue Truck and MaryAnn Harris’ Crow Girls.
