A reading challenge for the new year

I’ve been thinking about the new year, and book challenges (the kind that are about reading books, rather than about stopping people from reading books), and it occurred to me that the following could be fun:

In 2010, read 10 books–one that’s a writer’s first published novel, one that’s another writer’s second published novel, one that’s someone’s third novel, and so on, through to a book that’s a tenth novel. The books need not be published in 2010, but each should be written by a different writer.

Anyone want to join me?

My choices, subject to change (I’ll put them in bold as I read them):

Debut novel: Indigo Springs, A.M. Dellamonica
Second novel: Fat Vampire
Third novel: Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, Wendy Mass
Fourth novel: A Conspiracy of Kings, Megan Whelan Turner
Fifth novel: Liar, Justine Larbalestier
Sixth novel: Territory, Emma Bull
Seventh novel: Paper Daughter, Jeanette Ingold
Eighth novel: Grace, Elizabeth Scott
Ninth novel: Heart on My Sleeve, Ellen Wittlinger
Tenth novel: Billie’s Kiss, Elizabeth Knox
