Shanah tovah

I have a pot of posole simmering on the stove — it’s a corn hominy that’s traditional Mexican/Southwestern new year’s dish, so it seemed appropriate.

The clouds are clearing, and the mornings hold a hint of autumn coolness, and the year turns. There’s always some part of me that feels not-quite-ready for this season, and another part of me that craves it.

Shanah tovah — may this new year hold much joy and much sweetness for all who celebrate it.

And may the autumn be filled with much loveliness for the rest of you, too.
