Advice to would-be (male) heroes

When the woman you love is tied to the railroad tracks, and you race to the scene to rescue her, only to find she’s already untied herself? The correct response is not “Oh noes! You rescued yourself, that means you don’t need me!”

The correct response is “You already took care of the ropes? Cool, that gives us a head start on the running and fighting. Let’s get to it, now, shall we?”

Because male heroes, while you’ve gotten ever so much better about this, once in a while and on a regular basis, one of you still forgets.
