Dragon battles

Yesterday was another warm desert day (91F/33C), but it didn’t have that sense of warm desert all-rightness about it. The sky was filled with hazy clouds that didn’t have any rain behind them, and the air just felt–dirty, somehow. Not like the dragon’s breath we get in summer, but like some other invading creature, the sort that you need to pull out the dragon in order to force that creature away from a land where it doesn’t belong.

But maybe the dragon saw the threat and came out of winter hibernation on its own. We’re heading for another 90F/32C day today (yeah, we are setting records), but the clouds are mostly gone and the air feels–not just-right, but closer to how it ought to feel on a warm early spring day.

Clearly, it’s time for a walk and see how the dragon’s battle is going …
