Since I’ve started fencing (I feel like I should say “attempting to fence” here), I’ve discovered that what seems like half the people I know also fenced at one point. At the same point, in fact. Everyone I’ve talked to who used to fence, used to fence in college.
So after a while, I got to thinking about how, my first job out of college, I used to wonder where all the people my age were. All my coworkers were a decade or two older than me, and I wondered just what my peers were doing, since I never seemed to run into them, save for the friends I already knew.
But now, it all finally makes sense. Clearly, while I was off navigating my first job and first apartment, you were all off learning to fence. 🙂
