How did we cook before the Internet?

One of the nice things about being part of a local community-supported agriculture project is that you get into the habit of letting what’s in season–and what you have on hand–determine what you cook, and you get to watch what you cook change from season to season. After a winter and spring rich with greens of all sorts (and thus rich with stir fries that reduced down large quantities of same), we’ve moved into potato, tomato, onion, and summer squash season.

lnhammer and I both tend to often make this cooking thing up as we go along, but faced with a need to use up both zucchini and sweet potatoes tonight, I turned to Cookin’ With Google, a lovely widget that takes your ingredients and finds recipes that use them (you can also do this with google itself, of course–the only difference is the widget focuses on recipe sites).

Either way, google came through for me tonight, and turned up this surprisingly good Sweet Potato and Zucchini Hash recipe. Yum.

And–bonus–it used up a couple of our onions and a bunch of our fresh garlic, as well. 🙂
