November/”Drawing the Moon”

November’s story (up a day early for Halloween) is “Drawing the Moon.”

Here in the desert, the full moon shines so brightly that you can see your way by it; and see, too, the mountains lining the horizon. I’ve become much more aware of the phases of the moon since moving here. It’s stunning to see how the moon can silver the world, transforming it as if by magic.

And yet I’ve always suspected, deep down, that moonlight can never fully be trusted.
