More on Friday’s talk/reading

I’ll be reading “Stone Tower,” my short story from Gothic!, this Friday, 10 a.m., at the Tucson-Pima Main Library.

If time allows after questions, I may read from Bones of Faerie as well.

Meanwhile:

Recently lnhammer was talking about Doctor Who’s Time War, and how earlier Time Wars are alluded to through the series, though we know little about them.

Of course they are, I said. Time War is one of those phrases you just can’t resist tossing around as a random offhand reference if you’re a writer, at least not if you’re writing in a setting where Time Wars are a possibility.

Time Wars, Time Wars, Time Wars. Who can resist?

I met your grandmother during the Time Wars, you know. She was seeing a young temporal tech back then, barely noticed me.

Back during the Time Wars, we appreciated good boot leather, because leather cost, no hopping forward to 3053 to get it on the cheap.

Speak up! My hearing hasn’t been the same since that temporal loop explosion, back during the Time Wars.

Before the Time Wars, we did our homework the night it was due. Kids these days …

And so on. And on. And on.
