I love having stories illustrated. It’s a delight to see someone take my words, reinterpret them, bring something of their own to them, and turn them into something new.
Cricket!
Today’s mail brought the October issue of Cricket magazine, with “Heart’s Desire,” my bookish Cinderella story, therein. The illustrator, Amy Koltun, did a lovely job, with some really nice small touches. I especially like the family photos–of Cinderella’s old family, and of her new one; and the closing illustration–which it would be something of a spoiler to describe.
