Laugh it up, fuzzball

Taking a day off today (I will not write! I won’t! I’ll let my poor brain rest!) and re-watching Star Wars. The original, which ought not need any episode number for everyone to know which one I mean. 🙂

I can arguably trace the roots of both my being a fantasy reader and my being a writer to Star Wars, though there are lots of other influences in there, too. But watching Star Wars makes my inner child happy, no matter if my outer adult whispers about all the things that don’t quite make sense.

However, my inner child and outer adult agree on this point–we want to know Why doesn’t Chewbacca get a medal?

(We also want to know, as a geekier secondary question relevant to the updated version only, why it’s okay for Obi-Wan Kenobi to strike the first blow against Darth Vader, but Han Solo can no longer shoot the first shot at Greedo. Which of them has a mystical energy force to answer to here?)
