Buried Treasure–Fiction

Among the library subject headers for Secret of the Three Treasures is, reasonably enough, the header “Buried Treasure–Fiction.”

So I couldn’t resist. (And why should I?) I went to the Library of Congress catalog, did a subject browse on “Buried Treasure Fiction,” and found out that there are 447 books under same. (ETA: tried to link to them here, but loc sessions seem to time out pretty quickly, so you’ll just have to try it yourselves. 🙂 That’s 447 kids’ books–I note with disappointment that there are far fewer books on buried treasure, real or fictional, for adults.

Meanwhile, an excerpt from Kirkus‘ review:

Simner deftly tucks in clues, subplots and enough tongue-in-cheek humor to keep the suspense from turning scary. Her focused determination overriding all obstacles and mishaps, Tiernay makes an appealing protagonist… Fine fare for recent Cam Jansen and Encyclopedia Brown graduates.

(The full–but spoilery–version is visible on the book’s B&N page.)
