April’s story is “Exchange Student.”
Tomas Alvarez was the cutest guy in the ninth grade. Blond hair, broad shoulders, blue eyes to die for. Trouble was, he wouldn’t be born for fifty years.
One of my favorite ways to write is to take an opening line or two, start typing, and see where I wind up. It doesn’t always work, but when it does, it’s great fun. So when former Tucsonan Crystina Daniel and I came up with the opening paragraph of this story, of course I had to follow it, and see where it led.
