Well, the comic hilarity, so far as it went, was limited to trying to find our luggage (it’ll be in on the late flight from Heathrow) and trying to use the airport phones (the ones that wanted Swiss Francs didn’t seem to work; the ones that seemed to work wanted Euros). Our native guide and the holder of my brother’s apartment keys was indeed waiting patiently outside the airport, and even led us to some decent basic middle eastern food for dinner.

Basel looks to be a very pleasant city. Will see more by the light of day, no doubt. 🙂

Cool random things: British Airways features maps of exactly where you are throughout your journey, along with plane speed, head/tail winds, and the temperature outside the plane. My inner geek was pleased.
