Here’s my intro to “Alien Promises”:
When I was a kid, I made pacts with a couple of my closest friends: if ever aliens landed in my backyard, or I found a door into another world, I wouldn’t just leave; I’d find my friends and take them with me. I still take those promises seriously, and sometimes wonder what would happen, were I one day called upon to keep them.
