Donating

I was talking today with a friend who works for the Red Cross, and she told me that one problem when large disasters occur is that donations on the city and regional level pretty much dry up, even though local fires and floods and other tragedies don’t just stop when things like this happen.

So if you’re making a donation to the Red Cross on the national level, consider matching it with a donation to your city or region’s local Red Cross as well. (Out here, that would be the Red Cross of Southern Arizona.) Because small, local tragedies are only small to those who aren’t living them.
