I started reading yesterday, and put off getting to work today so I could finish it. A compelling protagonist and a compelling story.
Stormwitch
Just finished Stormwitch, by Susan Vaught (published by Bloomsbury). Really liked this one–set in 1969, the tale of the descendant of a sixteen-year-old African warrior girl, last of her line and trained to fight storms and spirits, struggling to adjust to moving from Haiti to racially-divided Mississippi while being true to her warrior ways–and while the spirit of her people’s ancient enemy barrels towards the Gulf Coast, bringing hurricane Camille with her.
