Not an easy choice, or a choice that solves things on it’s own, or a choice that makes anything happen instantly, or a choice that makes any promises at all–but a choice nonetheless, and not something limited to those who have the good luck to have it handed to them.
It’s the sort of choice one has to keep reminding oneself of, too. In moments of grace I find that joy just happens; but there’s a lot of living going on between those moments of grace, when it’s up to me to take joy in the wondrous or fascinating or simply silly things that cross my path in the course of the day, or that I seek out for myself in the course of same.
