Said when replotting on a story, “Far be it for me to pass up a chance to call someone back from the lands of the dead.”
It’s just one of those things I do. I think maybe all writers have oddnesses like this, things that keep coming back in different ways in different stories.
Speaking of stories: the current story–the one that used to be 9500 words–is down to 4600 words. I think nearly every word in the first draft has changed. Some stories are like that. I’ve also added a POV, and gone from third person to first.
Will let it sit a day, then Sunday the final read-through and polish before sending it out.
