The ongoing search for prime numbers

So my Mersenne number is 5.17 percent through being analyzed. No divisors yet, but, like, there’s almost 95 percent of the number still to go. Because if factoring Meresenne numbers were a quick thing, we’d find the prime ones a lot faster.

My computer seems content enough to chug away on this in the background, when not occupied with other things.

The program doing the work thinks I’ll have the number analyzed by sometime in April, but I think that may be a bit optimistic.

OTOH, if the number isn’t prime, which it overwhelmingly likely isn’t, a divisor can show up any time, and it will be time to move on to the next one.
