And, umm.

I might have been able to forgive everything else if the writers had understood Meg Murry and Charles Wallace. As it was, Meg was too self-contained, and Charles Wallace wasn’t self-contained enough.

And both were sort of Hollywood placeholder characters rather than having all the rough edges that are, after all, the whole point.
