Current reading

Having picked up the lovely new firebirdbooks editions, I’m now rereading Pamela Dean’s The Secret Country books. I don’t reread them anywhere near as often as my L’Engle books or McKinley’s The Blue Sword, but I’m realizing they are, nonetheless, part of my comfort reading canon.

One interesting thing this time, which will only make sense to those who’ve read them: I find myself oddly in sympathy with Patrick this time. I don’t think that’s happened before.
